Where to get burgers in Duluth: Main Street, Buford Hwy and PIB

Burgers in Duluth come from two places: downtown, where LR Burger and Good Word Brewing are steps from the Town Green, and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, with a diner, a wing-and-burger shop and the drive-thru chains. Dairy Queen and a second McDonald’s are on Buford Highway and Old Peachtree Road.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Duluth’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 6, 2026. We added places listed in the City of Duluth’s Eat Local directory and the Downtown Duluth directory, and checked every address against the U.S. Census Bureau’s geocoder. Burger restaurants around Gwinnett Place, on Pleasant Hill Road and on Satellite Boulevard have Duluth mailing addresses but sit outside the city line, so they are not here. Where a site would not load for us, the hours column says to check it. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Best Wing and Grill describes itself as a wing, tender and burger shop, in the shopping center at 3455 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. It is closed on Sundays.

Dairy Queen Grill & Chill on Buford Highway serves grilled burgers alongside its soft-serve cones and Blizzards, according to the Downtown Duluth directory. Its location page would not load for us.

Duluth Diner is a family-owned New York-style diner, open since 2005, whose menu runs from breakfast to Angus steaks and burgers. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is the chain’s restaurant on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Sugarloaf Parkway, serving steakburgers and frozen custard. Its store page would not load for us; check the chain’s site or call.

Good Word Brewing & Public House brews its own beer and runs a full kitchen downtown. Its dinner menu lists the GWB Cheeseburger with American cheese, sauteed onions, pickles and house burger sauce, served with fries; it also runs a weekend brunch.

LR Burger is a burger restaurant on Main Street. The Downtown Duluth directory says its menu runs from traditional burgers to combinations such as The Southpaw, with blackened Cajun spices, blue cheese and bacon. Its website would not load for us, so call for hours.

McDonald’s has two restaurants inside the city: one on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Pleasant Hill Road and one on Old Peachtree Road. Their location pages would not load for us; check them or the McDonald’s app for hours.
