GNR Public Health inspects Duluth restaurants and posts every score online. How Georgia grades A to U, how to read a report and how to complain: 770-963-5132.

Last checked Oct. 6, 2026. Facts on this page come from GNR Public Health’s environmental health pages and the Georgia Department of Public Health. Questions about a specific inspection: Gwinnett County Environmental Health, 770-963-5132.

Every restaurant in Duluth is inspected by GNR Public Health, the public health district for Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale counties, through its Environmental Health office at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 600, in Lawrenceville. Inspection scores are public. Gwinnett publishes them on its own portal, not on the state’s statewide search, so a search on the state site for a Duluth restaurant finds nothing.

Who to call

How to look up a score

  1. Open the Gwinnett inspection portal, linked from GNR Public Health’s restaurant regulations page.
  2. Search by the restaurant’s name or street. Many Duluth-addressed restaurants are outside city limits, so check the street address, not just the town.
  3. Open the most recent inspection to see the score, the grade and each violation.

The Georgia Department of Public Health’s food service page notes that Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale are not included in the statewide search.

How Georgia grades restaurants

Grade Score
A 90 to 100
B 80 to 89
C 70 to 79
U (unsatisfactory) 69 or less

The scale is printed on the Georgia Department of Public Health’s inspection database. Inspectors take points off for violations of the Georgia Food Code. The state’s inspection marking instructions say the current score and grade go in the most prominent boxes on the report, with the two previous scores beside them, so a report shows a short history at a glance. A follow-up inspection appears as its own dated entry.

What changed in 2026

The Georgia Department of Public Health published the 2025 Georgia Food Code in February 2025. Starting Jan. 1, 2026, GNR Public Health began enforcing it in restaurants that were permitted before February 2025, and the district says points may be taken off for items that do not meet the changes. The food code also requires every restaurant to have at least one manager or supervisor with a nationally recognized food safety manager certification.

What inspectors check

GNR Public Health says the purpose of its food service program is to make sure operators follow procedures that minimize the risk of diners becoming ill. Besides inspections, the district reviews plans before a restaurant is built, issues permits and trains food service workers. It also regulates food at fairs, festivals and temporary events, and mobile food units.

The Flawless Five award

Restaurants with a perfect score on five consecutive inspections receive GNR Public Health’s Flawless Five Achievement Award, a certificate signed by the health department.

Reporting a problem

If you are concerned about a health violation at a restaurant, GNR Public Health asks you to file a complaint through its Contact Us page, or call the Gwinnett Environmental Health office at 770-963-5132. The same office handles complaints about public pools, body art studios, hotels and motels, and septic systems.

Method and a note on fairness

We could not retrieve Duluth scores from the Gwinnett portal by automated search for this page, so we do not list individual results here; use the portal to check any restaurant. An inspection is a snapshot of one visit. Scores have legal weight for the business, and a restaurant that scored low on one visit may have fixed the problem by its follow-up. Read the latest report, not an old one. A business that wants to point to a newer inspection can contact us.
