I Luv Hot Pot scored 57 on its Oct. 15 follow-up after a 54 on Oct. 6. Chenji Tea, VEGreen 2 Go, Courtyard and Bread Connection all passed reinspection.
I Luv Hot Pot / I Luv Bowling on Satellite Boulevard failed its follow-up health inspection Thursday. It scored 57, a second unsatisfactory U grade in nine days.
The four Duluth kitchens that failed in late September and early October all passed their follow-ups. One of them, Chenji Tea Restaurant, went from 52 to a perfect 100.
The scores come from GNR Public Health’s inspection portal, which posts every restaurant inspection in Gwinnett County. Georgia grades on a 100-point scale: A is 90 to 100, B is 80 to 89, C is 70 to 79 and U is 69 or less.
I Luv Hot Pot: 54, then 57
I Luv Hot Pot / I Luv Bowling, 4500 Satellite Blvd., Suite 1240A, scored 54 on Oct. 6. That score is recorded on the Oct. 15 follow-up report, which scored the kitchen 57.
The inspector marked three findings as repeats from Oct. 6:
- an overall lack of active managerial control, which must be fixed by Friday, Oct. 23
- mold on taro in the walk-in cooler, and expired almond milk in use in a reach-in cooler
- napa cabbage, bok choy and cooked chicken wings held above 41 degrees, at 43 to 52 degrees
The report also records:
- a dish machine whose chlorine sanitizer measured 0 parts per million
- a dead roach inside the prep cooler in the front kitchen
- the back door propped open at the start of the inspection
- sanitizer mixed too strong, and wiping cloths kept in sanitizer that was too weak
The food was thrown out, and most items were corrected during the visit.
The report’s standard notice says: “Two consecutive unsatisfactory scores will result in a permit suspension.” It does not say whether the permit has been suspended, and it sets a further follow-up for Oct. 23. The portal showed no later inspection as of Friday morning.
A score describes one visit only. I Luv Hot Pot / I Luv Bowling may send a response through our contact page, and we will add it here.

Each score links to its report: Chenji Tea Restaurant, VEGreen 2 Go, the Courtyard and Bread Connection Bakery. The original failures are in our earlier report on the Sept. 22 to Oct. 5 inspections.
Bread Connection Bakery passed with a B, but the inspector marked three findings as repeats:
- a black mold-like substance inside the ice machine
- butter out on time control with no start or end time marked
- the latest inspection report not posted where customers can see it
All three were corrected during the visit. VEGreen 2 Go had one repeat finding, wiping cloths kept in sanitizer that was too weak, which was also corrected.
Three other Duluth kitchens that scored a C in the earlier round were reinspected:
- Pokiddo Indoor Playground, 2205 Pleasant Hill Road, went from 79 to 100 on Oct. 9.
- La Madeleine, 2255 Pleasant Hill Road, went from 74 to 97 on Oct. 8.
- Friendship BBQ, 2255 Pleasant Hill Road, went from 70 to 77 on Oct. 8.
