Duluth City Hall stays open, Gwinnett County Public Schools is in session, and city trash pickup runs on its normal schedule. The county’s annual ceremony is at 11 a.m. at the Fallen Heroes Memorial in Lawrenceville.

The Gwinnett County ceremony
Gwinnett County holds its Veterans Day ceremony each year, with remarks by local officials and a keynote speaker, according to the county’s Fallen Heroes Memorial ceremonies page.
Is it on this year? Yes. The county’s Veterans Day notice, posted Oct. 7, sets the 2026 ceremony for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Fallen Heroes Memorial on the grounds of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville. Retired Army Brig. Gen. Daniel Kaufman gives remarks, and the program includes a Salute to Veterans.
- Veterans Stand Down: 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., near the memorial, with services and resources for veterans and their families.
- Cost: free, open to all ages.
- Weather: rain or shine. In bad weather both events move inside the Justice and Administration Center, as they did in 2025.

The city’s solid waste service is delayed one day only after New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Veterans Day is not one of them.
