Trash pickup changes

The city’s solid waste page lists Labor Day among six holidays that delay service by one day. Republic Services collects carts a day later than usual all that week. The Public Works dumpsters at 2450 Main St. close on city holidays.

One last pool day

Gwinnett County’s West Gwinnett Park Aquatic Center, 4488 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Berkeley Lake, opens its outdoor leisure pool, with two giant waterslides and a lazy river, from noon to 6 p.m. on Labor Day, according to Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation. Admission details are on the county’s aquatics page. Chattahoochee River Tubing, 4349 Abbotts Bridge Road, runs from May; check its website for the end of its season.

Multicultural Week, Aug. 26-30, 2026, including Multicultural Night on Aug. 28 and the Korean Festival Foundation’s K-pop competition on Aug. 29.
Duluth Farmers and Artisan Market, Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026, 2 to 5 p.m. on the Town Green, the first market of the fall season.
Duluth Live, performers in Parsons Alley every Friday and Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m., April through October.
Flicks on the Bricks on Sept. 11 and The Big 150: Off the Rails on Sept. 12, the weekend after.

At the Southeastern Railway Museum, 3595 Buford Hwy., the Trains + Trucks + Tractors = Wheels and Rails II show ran on Aug. 29, 2026, according to the museum. The 2027 lineup is not out.
